FAQ

Questions we get asked

What is the difference between door entry and access control?
Door entry lets a visitor call a flat or an office and be let in by the person inside. Access control lets people who are allowed in open the door themselves with a fob, card, code or phone, and can record who went through which door and when. Many buildings have both.
Can you replace the door entry system in our close?
Yes. We replace old tenement and close entry panels and handsets with audio or video systems, often reusing existing cable. If the building has a factor, we can quote through them.
What happens to locked doors if the fire alarm goes off?
Access controlled doors on escape routes are normally fitted with locks that release when power is removed, and linked to the fire alarm so they open when it sounds. We set this up and test it at commissioning.
Can I add or remove fobs myself?
On most systems, yes. We show you how to add and cancel fobs at handover, so a lost fob can be switched off the same day.
