FAQ

Questions we get asked

How often should a fire alarm be serviced?
For commercial systems, BS 5839-1 recommends a service by a competent person at least every six months, with a weekly test by someone on site. Domestic interlinked alarms do not have a set service interval, but sealed alarms must be replaced at the end of their life, usually ten years.
How often should an intruder alarm be serviced?
Usually once a year for an alarm that rings on site only, and twice a year for a monitored system. Your insurer may set its own requirement, so check your policy.
Will you service a system another company installed?
Yes. We service systems from most manufacturers, whoever fitted them. The first visit is a full inspection so you know where you stand.
What if something breaks between visits?
Call us. We run a 24 hour call-out for faults on fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and door entry.
