24/7 monitoring

24/7 alarm monitoring for fire and intruder alarms

We connect your fire alarm or burglar alarm to an approved Alarm Receiving Centre. Whatever time your system signals, someone sees it and acts on it.

How the signal travels

From the detector to someone who can act

  1. Detector

A smoke detector, call point or movement sensor triggers.

  2. Panel

Your control panel confirms the alarm and sounds on site.

  3. Communicator

Sends the signal over broadband and mobile, so one failure does not stop it.

  4. Receiving centre

Operators see it within seconds, day or night, and open your response plan.

  5. Response

You, your keyholders, or the fire service, in the order you chose.

Setting it up

What we arrange with you

  • The communicator. Fitted to your panel, new or existing, and tested end to end with the ARC.
  • Your response plan. Who gets called, in what order, and what happens for a fire signal against an intruder signal.
  • Keyholders. At least two people who can get to the building, or a keyholding service if you do not have them.
  • Ongoing checks. Signalling tested at every service visit, so you know the route still works.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

What is an Alarm Receiving Centre?
An Alarm Receiving Centre, or ARC, is a control room staffed around the clock that receives signals from alarm systems and acts on them using a response plan agreed with you. ARCs are certified to their own British and European standards.
Can you monitor an alarm you did not install?
Often, yes. If the panel can take a communicator we fit one, test the signalling and connect it to the ARC. If it cannot, we will tell you what it would take.
What happens when my alarm goes off?
The ARC receives the signal within seconds and follows your response plan. That usually means calling the site, then your keyholders in order, and for a fire alarm, calling the fire service where that is part of the plan.
What if the phone line or internet goes down?
A dual path communicator sends signals over two routes, typically broadband and a mobile network. If one fails the other carries the signal, and the ARC is told that a path has been lost.
